EXECUTIVE STAFF

Kim McGrory, Deputy Executive Director, has been with Calcutta House since 1996, first in a secretarial position, moving to several financial office positions, then to Operations Manager and Associate Director. (Ms McGrory was appointed by the Board to serve as Interim Executive Director when the Steve Peura resigned in November of 2007, and has served in that additional capacity until a new Director was appointed in September of 2008). Ms. McGrory is a State Certified Medication Administrator, and serves as the State Licensed Personal Care Home Administrator. Kim is a graduate of the Institute of Business Technology and holds a certificate in Non-Profit Management from LaSalle University.

Susan Vanderburg, Director of Finance is responsible for tracking all of the financial aspects – bill paying, grant and foundation funding - of the agency, and handles all of the financial statements and reporting requirements. In addition, Susan prepares all government funding requests and renewals.  Susan joined Calcutta House following 11 years’ experience in various staff accounting positions with several non-profit and profit entities.                   

Bryan McGrory, Director of Building Services,
has been with Calcutta House for over eight years.  Mr. McGrory manages all of the maintenance, custodial, and transportation services for Calcutta House’s two facilities, in addition to managing Calcutta House’s two adjacent apartments.  Prior to assuming the duties of Director of Building Services, Bryan’s previous position with Calcutta House was as Coordinator of Volunteers, Activities and Transportation.  Bryan holds a BS in Psychology from Penn State University.

Joseph H. Tozzi, Director of Development and Communications, is responsible for Calcutta House’s corporate, foundation, individual, faith-based groups and community organizations fundraising in addition to the agency’s public relations, communications and marketing efforts.  Joe is also responsible for researching all appropriate corporate and foundation funding sources, and writing and submitting grant proposals.  Joe has over four decades of fundraising experience with a variety of Delaware Valley area educational, arts, social service and health agencies.

Anita Chandler-May, RN, BSN, Manager of Nursing, has more than 30 years’ experience, the last decade providing nurturing care for the residents of Calcutta House, first as a staff nurse then subsequently Director of Nursing. Prior to joining Calcutta House, Anita worked for True Care Home Health Services, assisting the impoverished in North Philadelphia with home-based health care. She has also worked with Mercy Douglas Rehabilitation Center as a supervisor of the Skilled Care Unit.

Vuronda Hannah-Fischer, BSW, Lead Counselor, is Acting Manager of Social Services. Ms. Hannah has over a decade experience in inpatient and outpatient case management, crises intervention, substance abuse counseling, basic business skills training and advocacy. Currently, she is supervised by the Deputy Executive Director, Kim McGrory, while a search is underway for a Manager of the Department.
